I cannot find any record of this CATHERINE LAWTON after the 1851 Census. Have made enquiries to Tameside Registrars who cannot find any record of either a Death or Marriage of Catherine Lawton in the BMD Archives, nor is there any record in Lancashire BMD. A Catherine Lawton who married in Stockport has proved not to be the one either. No record as yet been found in the 1861 Census either when Catherine would have been aged 21 years..

The Catherine Lawton who married John W Worsnip in 1868 is the daughter of Isaac Lawton of Mossley.

Hi, Trevor - I've replied in my other e mail about Peter Lawton, but the Catherine Lawton (Duk-5/32) is John and Catherine's daughter, but her maiden name is down as Bevin!!! How many different surnames beginning with B can she have?? Again, the parents probably didn't realise that the names were different on every registration! - You know about Austin as well from my other e mail. - Kind regards: Josie, Tameside Registrar
