Mossley and Saddleworth Reporter - Saturday, 18th January 1908 - Sad losses.
Our sympathies are extended to Mr Isaac GARTSIDE, of New Barn, Delph, and to Mr Percy MATLEY, of Uppermill, in the sad losses they have sustained this week by the demise of their young wives. Mrs GARTSIDE, who for some time previous to her marriage was in service at Linthwaite House, died in child-bed on Monday morning, at the age of 33 years. The remains were interred on Thursday in the Independent Churchyard, Delph. - Mrs Annie MATLEY, who was the daughter of Mr John LAWTON, The Square, Delph, was married only a short time ago. She suffered from a heart affliction, and expired suddenly in the early hours of Saturday morning.

I found the twins' birth entries in Dukinfield, Duk2/28 and Duk2/29. Their mum's maiden name is down as Brammer. I found Peter, the reference is Duk10/61 and his mum's maiden name is down as Brannon.
It is possible to do a 'Simple Listing' on Cheshire BMD, whereby you can view all the births with the beginning letter. - I put in 'L' to see if there was a child Austin and he was registered as Langston. His parents couldn't sign their name, so the Registrar probably misheard it. Catherine's maiden name is down as Brammall!! The reference is Duk7/78 in June 1841. I hope this clears it up for you. - Josie: Tameside Registrar. - This Austin is recorded in the Cheshire BMD at Tameside under the surname "Langston"Census - [date: 1841] [place: Park Road, Tame Valley, Dukinfield, Cheshire.]
